I'm just grateful that so far (knocks on her processed wood desk) IDI is not as bad as the Welcome Centers in SL! I'm still under therapy for the last time I landed in a 'welcome' center... ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) Do tell! LOL

It has been 4yrs now since I was a mentor on IDI, the grid was very new then, if we got an NR Ele would shout.. all hands at deck & woosh we were there in seconds... about 4 or 5 of us. We didn't hang around there unless we were building... you would know a new arrival because the landing spot would go off with bright coloured lights lol, was funny.
I meet a lot of NR on my Region, always befriend them & try to help were I can do. Yesterday I had 2 that took up my free cottages offer, they had not received the hud at IDI, it wasnt in their package.. she said there were LM's in the package but when she tried them they lead nowhere or didnt work. I gave her a copy of the hud I had which I think was 1.2, but suggested she should go by IDI & pick one up. I know the new residents group sends out daily messages via Ele, as I recently made a banker avi & kept receiving these messages, so that is a good thing.
When I have been at IDI, it just seems more peaceful, not seen many ppl there, not like it was before. Maybe I have just been lucky & saw the older mentors there when I have gone, who are always helpful & talkative, always say Hi to me. I have come across a few NR's there too just wandering around aimlessly, those are the ones I approach incase they need help... otherwise I just leave it to those Mentors on duty.
Rosie if I had been you I would have taken the names of those people & sent the chat to Founders as that is absolutely wrong IMO, so long as your bits are covered you are allowed at IDI, so we have been informed countless times

Since I've been in IW I have seen a lot of Furries join only to not come back. Our furry groups are full of "deadwood". Almost all give the reason being "no good Furry avatars." There really aren't many choices yet for Furries. Not to generalize but most are my age and mostly younger. 30 years old and less. Many are like 19 to 23 years old so don't have the patience to wait and make the best of things. Are spoiled by all the avvie choices in SL. Not sure what to do for "Fantasy people". I've been learning to make avatars but they certainly are not quality of what people can get "over there". I'm still at start of learning curve. I get at least one IM a week from new comers asking if I can make a Wolf, or a Lion or a Rabbit or whatever. Unfortunately I don't have the time nor the ability. Have asked numerous makers from across the street to come in IW as there is a need but so far, no takers. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

The Explorer Hud is in the New Resident folder. There have been a few updates to the folder and it may have just been an oversight, and an old one passed by accident.

You just have to wear V3 and wait a few seconds and it sends out update and you will automatically receive V4 ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

When I use to visit SL, I was in a bike group. Every Friday night we gathered at the club house to discuss the next weeks business (parties, fund raisers, etc), then the road chief would let us know where we would ride that night. Whether that was a mainland highway, or private sim with roadways, point was, we went out as a group to explore. Part of that exploration was not to just enjoy some great places to ride, but to also enjoy some great builds and learn of tucked out of the way merchants who might have some great products. Chopper had mentioned a sim crawl to me a number of weeks back. I'd be interested in knowing the progress of this venture. I fully agree on the group adventures, as they give you many folks to talk with about what you are seeing as a group. that idea Is still around hairy, but the people who started it really don't participate in anything anymore, I would still like to get the group more active. there is a group joiner at my landing spot on my sim. im a owner of the group but didn't start it..it was an idea I tossed out with a few people. I think it would be a great idea to promote adult sims. if anybody here wants to help me get it going again contact me, ill explain the whole concept
