Sorry to hear about your laptop Amara. Didn't the repair shop give you a 90 day warranty on the repair?

Thank you Hairy- yes he said he would work with me. I will contact him Tuesday. Now what does this mean you guys- I am on lappy now that I booted up in Safe Mode with networking. I am on line here now- haven't tried to run IW but I proly shouldn't even if it work in safe mode.
But yeah what could it mean if it works here in safe mode but not when normal?

Safe mode doesn't load all the drivers, so this would indicate to me that you have a driver that has gone south on you.

This is what happened to mine Amara, is why I had to give in & buy a new one. I couldn't afford a really expensive one, but the one I got was an expensive one heavily reduced coz was last years model. There are a lot of bargains around & most of the graphic cards today can handle 3d. I can view mesh & everything on mine & it isn't one of the top ones. I had a Nvidea before and this one now performs just the same

The worst is the mesh. That is instant death now. I just emailed the guy that i paid $225 bux to fix it- it does have some sort of guarantee re fix- so lets see what happens. I could buy a desk top I suppose at a fraction of what a good gamer lappy wd cost- but damn I don't have the bux for a new machine all together. Husband wd shoot me!

I think I see the problem here - you need to shoot him first. Or explain that a new desktop is vital for your ... um ... thing.

I have Lumiya on my fone. It is pretty sad compared to the real thing but at least it gets me there. I wait for kid to bed down though and steal his lappy! Sadly that is at ten and by that time I am kinda dead myself.

Depending on whether you need the heat sink, and make of board that it has to plug into, the 1000m goes for anywhere between $100 and $200, so including labour, I don't think your repair guy is far off the mark. I don't think he should be charging you the labour as his previous work failed, and fell within the 30 - 90 day warranty period that most would give on their repairs.
