As I mentioned elsewhere, I have left IW. The reasons do not matter, what does matter is all the worlds I have been discovering!
So- since this is after all a private forum where one need not be constrained by censorship or "officialities", I will share a few as I come across them.
First off, I do make my home in The Great Canadian Grid now. I fell in love with its quirkiness and old timey feel. The same things that attracted me to IW in the first place. It seems GCG has managed to so far avoid some of the weirdness that all OS places get at first- which if you look right down at it- back in the day- that is all IW was too, an OpenSim world starting out and eventually pulling itself into what it is now. Same can be said of say Avination and other closed-garden places. After all, the real beginning is SecondLife and everything after came from there - so no use trying to pooh-pooh opensim worlds as if they are beneath one (that directed at those sorts of grids that think they are so above their humble beginnings).
Besides the GCG, I have a presence in a pretty cool European place, Zangrid. Very advanced also- lovely things to experience- omg you should have seen their Halloween! It was wild! Since am not Euro, it is kind of empty when I have gone there, still a lovely place and I do recommend a visit. Sue Blessed I believe is the name of the person who runs it, but I could be wrong? And I do know her name from elsewhere but not sure where- after a while they run into each other.
Cannot leave this without mentioning how super awesome I think the hypergrid is! I know people worry about content theft and such- and these are sound concerns - myself, I cannot bother to worry about things like that- there are thieves everywhere- Hell, someone very close to me found one of his exclusively made pieces - that he made specially for a customer- being used by another well known Resident in a grid I shall not name. He was unable to bring it up to the proper authorities because he had lost the original files in a HD disaster. So- bottom line is shit happens. I personally refuse to lose sleep over it- but your millage may vary. I am planning on taking my animations into the GCG- if some jackass steals from me, karma can be a bitch, is all i can say.
On the hypergrid I found several places where creators give so generously of their gifts- one is called Seleea's World I think- I keep screwing up her name- but wow! The way Linda Kelly's name is synonymous with freely given content - this place- and so many like it! - are gems to be discovered. Garden things, water things, textures- all sorts of richness that you can take off grid to your own hypergrid enabled world.
Another place, The Ark - is exactly that- a huge ark filled with animals and plants, both realistic and fantasy, that again, you can take with you. And that is just a start!

It can be your passport to a whole new way to look at virtual worlds. Good luck! See you round the metaverse!
