OK - Not that I care much a bout SL itself, other than how it impacts us in IW - but - thoughts on the impact of a whole new platform? How does this change/affect other worlds? I recall how everyone freaked about Blue Mars- thinking it was going to be a sky is falling thing- didn't pan out mostly because of the lack of resident content ability- in MY opinion - and i haven't read too much about the SL offer etc but it is a new and radical development..

Don't think it will pan out very well at this time. Sl made it big only because of third party funding and allowing almost anyone with a pc to sign up. Third party funding allowed them to get out to market quickly, but even if Phillip has that type of funding now, how many peeps have the type of equipment in their homes to benefit from the new platform? Very few elite peeps with deeper pockets than most of us, will be participating in it. Phillip's last venture on Steam never became much ado, and in fact, looking now, I don't even see the game listed there any longer.

And now maybe this could be bumped into Project Sansar and the discussion of how this might mean the end of SL as we know it and/or will it lead to a mass migration or major influx of new people arriving in InWorldz?
