Do any of you remember the Blue Stocking haiku activity Tiggs started in-world? Gerrard and I think it would be fun to start something like that again here in the forum! The rules were:
*must be in haiku format: first line 5 syllables, second line 7 and third line 5, with only 3 lines per haiku *must start with the last word of the prior poster
I'll re-post most of the haikus Gerrard started in-world (some, of course, since we are on a forum, do not apply) as they explain nicely the concept:
[Gerrard]
It seems I have been Volunteered to get the ball Rolling with haikus
Haikus do not rhyme Three lines - five syllables, Seven, five again
A reference to Nature is traditional But not essential
When you [do post] yours Start anew with the last word And then send it on
This can be a lot of fun - just try it!

The inworld game involved starting with the last word of the previous Haiku. It continued from above: Once we have thirteen Just send the notecard back to Gerrard Winstanley When you receive yours Start anew with the last word And then send it on On pancake Tuesday We begin our endeavour (See what I did there?) There is one more thing So we can see who wrote them Add your name above [TIGGS] Above the Azure Seas writhing in wafting breeze bodies meet in lust [Amaranthim} Lust, through Time burns on Winter's cold touch is felt deep. Hidden spring must wait. [Rhiannon] Wait - how terrible, When lust drives the tempo on, To hear that cruel word [Kelly] Word turn in to words Throbbing adds the second beat Coursing through your veins [Safar] Veins, turbulent seas Calling of a siren's song To the undertow (TIGGS) Under toe the sands coarse and grainy: tactile impressions lasting [Hairy] Lasting forever as long as time permits us lasting, not ever [Rhiannon] Ever longing for The consummation, and yet Fearing the climax It seems the lyrical ardour was lost after Rhiannon's 'climax' I think it would be good to keep the same system going of carrying on from the previous last word If two people start post at the same time - we can split the thread I'll start from Hairy's
