Hi everyone, First question is 1. Can you alter mesh clothing in any way after its has been rigged ? 2. Can you alter mesh clothing aafter it has been weight painted? 3. How and when can you add pieces like buttons, studs etc to clothing and do you have to make them in the same file as the clothing?

Im not a mesh clothing creator but did a bit of research on your behalf - altering rigged mesh including weight painting cannot be done In a virtual world, unless someone has created some uber script or program. You'll just have to alter your body. Nearest thing to altering rigged mesh is the mesh deformer. I think you can alter a non rigged mesh. You can alter rigged mesh in 3D prog. Buttons and stuff I'm sure you can just link them onto the mesh outfit. If so you can create them anyhow. Sorry I am a bit rusty on rigged mesh clothing. Perhaps these LINKS can help more :- wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh/Uploading_and_wearing_a_rigged_meshmonaeberhardt.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/the-mesh-deformer-is-dead-long-live-fitted-mesh/strawberrysingh.com/2013/11/21/fitted-mesh/

Hi Carol I tried attaching something to a rigged mesh skirt panal I did, but once worn the bit I attached did not remain on the edge where I had attached it... so I figure anything like buttons etc would have to be seperate attachments, or you could texture them in on your textures, Most Mesh I have seen, look great because of their texturing imo

Hi Rosa, How are you getting on with the sizing of mesh clothes?
For my part I am now trying by making the base Ruth size then save as .blend, Next, I change the avastar shape to the size XXS on the standard sizing sheet, then save. I work my way through the 5 sizes saving a separate file for each size. Keeping the basic ruth (avastar) size as a model. Next I am going to rig and weight paint each one separately, although, I absolutely hate weight painting but it will be an exercise.

Hi Carol
To be honest I haven't done much in blender recently, I am working on improving my textures & I don't have avastar though I thought about getting it, is it any good?
