Log in. I wondered where they were today, having posted in them just yesterday. I logged in and there they were.
As for the two people we're discussing, one of them draws a very non-pg comic and has an alt who never wears more than a bulging thong. He's a soft-hearted idiot who thinks he can fix the world when he hasn't got a clue about some things. It's very sad. He'll be the one with his camera down your cleavage. He keeps some things on his alt because he wants some of his websites to be taken seriously and his main account can be traced to them, but even on his main account, if you know him well enough you'll realise he could never campain for a PG grid.
The other says "If you not comfortable in my group, there are plenty of other sims out there." I would very much like to see evidence of this campaining for an all-PG grid I keep hearing about.

Thanks for the hint Eros. When I logged in ~ General D could be seen again. I have lodged a General Discussion topic alerting folk to the problem. Over to the web wizards to fix it now. Pleased to see that the kitties have been fed in Caturday. See ~ there are some good people in the world. Stjarna

You now have to login to the forums to be able to see all the threads/discussions; same as you've always had to log in there if you want to post anything. If you don't login, General and Off Topic are not visible. A tactic to discourage Lurkers maybe?

Well, now I'm thinking it means casual visitors wouldn't see the drama.

I don't see the closing of General Discussion "until some point in the future" as a punishment at all. The management have in the past assured us that in improving the grid software architecture they won't break anything already existing and functional Rather I see it as a betrayal of that principle.- in that the opportunity to give feedback has been part and parcel of the reason why many of us have invested both money and a part of ourselves into the grid. Many have spent a lot of time thoughtfully typing out carefully considered posts in the belief that they were making a permanent contribution to the progress of the grid.- and these conversations would remain as part of a searchable archive. On top of that, and in many ways, more importantly, there are the In Memoriam threads - and the invaluable notices of illness and hospitalisation. I reject the assertion that General Discussion had become a place where residents took "delight in trolling, baiting, and hateful discourse". What I've seen over the past years is very, very, very small minority posting judgmental diatribes in anger and then going back repeatedly to edit, making the initial justifiable reactions seem over the top and inappropriate. As that very, very, very small minority seems blissfully unaware of how crucial their own posting style has been to creating the sometimes ever so slightly hostile atmosphere there - and is currently castigating all around for their inability to behave themselves.- as sure as eggs is eggs, the cycle will continue. In a few months time, probably when Elenia is away again, there'll be fresh admonishments of immodest dress on IDI, more attempts to police the sexuality of others in the guise of caring about the image of the grid, more threats to give us "graphic details" of why gay sex is wrong that will make us all "squirm" and more insulting and patronising claims that people don't like what they have to say "because it make sense.". And then we'll be insulted all over again by the chief moderator declaring that everyone and the full moon is to blame. tl;dr version? Official General Discussion; I'm out. So I'll say in advance to any resident that I know or don't that falls ill or has an accident - get well soon!

I feel I should add that I don't dislike or have any animosity to the very, very, very small minority - I actually think he's a jolly nice chap and have enjoyed his company in world a lot - and hope to continue to do so.
I think it's worth bearing in mind that many of us have parents with similar fuddy-duddy attitudes and we still love them.

About General Duscusion not being seen unless logged in ~
Twas a glitch. ~ Now been fixed.
Tranquillity Dexler commented ~ "I just fixed this. Thanks."
Later I found that Group Discussion was still glitched.
Posted an alert. ~ That is also now fixed.
I nearly always write a comment in an Email, then log in to post ~ considering my words with care.
Maybe some log in first and fire rapidly from the hip without thinking too much ~ thus leading to the need to edit.
Such editing could also be a trolling tool ~ by posting a volatile comment, leaving it there long enough to be seen and then edit the offending comment.
I believe it would be good to be able to view earlier versions of edited posts in the InWorldz Forum ~ as this would help to unmask a troll.

All Imma say is... the chief moderator should have come down like a Thor's hammer on the person who decided to insult our intelligence and large portions of the InWorldz community.
That revisionist is still roaming the said forum and may I say has still the audacity to calleth others trolls!!!!!
What is that telling me, well it tells me, you can post your prejudices and BS and continue to do so until someone says WTF IS THIS SH*T!
WHY THE FLYING F*** WAS HE BEING ALLOWED TO SAY ALL THAT ON AN OFFICIAL FORUM! - It just gave an impression it was ok to offend people until someone yells STOP THIS CRAP! IT'S OFFENSIVE AND HAS GONE TOO FAR!!!!
I prob gone crazy and maybe I need my meds again but... talking and tweeting about being tolerant and yet allowing intolerant views to be aired on an official forum reaked!
I got offended by those posts, no apology has been given for allowing the expression of those nasty views of others lifestyle, just garb about being tolerant.
Yeah I saw how tolerant the chief moderator was on those posts but intolerant of mine and yet I offended no-one but the views of the bigot!
IMMA GO DRINK GINGER TEA TO CAAAAAALM ME DOWN AND WHERE THE HELL DID I PUT ME MEDS!!!!!!!!!!
P.S
People get fired from jobs for those kind of views. Yet you can openly say that and still be on the IWZ forum ?

The one thing that suprises me is how shocked and suprised so many folks were about the views expressed. Surely it's obvious they're a bunch of narrow minded twats? So Elf Clan is homophobic... this is not news. They're so PG as to be, quite frankly, creepy. Thus I've learned to ignore them all and not really give a stuff what views they want to try to shove down everyone's throat. The founders have made it clear that IW is NOT turning into a PG theme park - and as long as the founders keep that attitude then frankly Elf Clan, en masse, are completely irrelevant and truly not worth the time taken to rise to their constant baiting. Personally I'd dearly love to see IW drop the whole creepy official PG crap and just turn public places "Moderate" so people can stop getting their panties in a bunch if someone happens to flash an ankle.

It was ironically the 'Tolerance' thread, Luna - and the worst frothy-mouthed post I've ever seen on the forum was actually a reply to you - it was removed a day or so after the lock. Eros's fairly innocuous response to it was removed immediately (probably because he said "what is this shit?").

A gay wedding is a PG event though, well unless it causes the splitting of seams in little elf britches, turning the whole affair into an X-rated one.
