Seems the $300 is the card alone. He said he wdnt charge for labor cause the first repair didn't take.

do a search on a 1000m series card and with heat sink included, they go for $200usd on the top end for new.

@ Amar, You already paid him $200+ and it still didn't work! You gonna pay him another $300!
Why not contribute the $300 towards something that's a mid-range 'puter. Otherwise you gonna cough up over $500 for a series of botched repairs - me thinks.
But first tell him he needs to uphold warranty. You told me inside of ur lappy was all clogged up, it could be just he never cleaned inside properly! I dunno just guessing, is it over-heating ? - are the vents clear of obstructions internally and externally ?

Steely just looked for same part and he confirmed. Used around $300. He is in the biz so he wd know. :-( Grrr. Need lotto please.

If your 'puter is old then maybe put that 300 towards the cost of a new one and soldier on for a bit.
No need to buy a high end PC, pay by monthly installments, may work out more over the long run but you don't have to cough up a huge lump sum.
