*dons his shiniest armour and jumps to the rescue* Has you got a 'Participated' button top-right, Becky? (it should be on by default but can be switced on in Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > first option) And there is a 'Recent Threads' button on the top right of the menu bar - although it's not working for me at the moment Have to say - I did like the simple 'Active Topics' option on the official EDIT - I think 'Recent Threads' only works from the main home page - or a bookmark. Once you're in a subboard or thread - doesn't like it

While inside a thread, you can put your mouse pointer over the Chatterboxz button up top. A drop down menu will appear that shows the parent category you're in with a little arrow pointing to the right. Bring your mouse pointer down onto this category and another drop down appears, showing what other categories and threads within, have New posts. You can left click from within this menu system to get to the New posts.

Is there any way to get the 'Prev'{pages}'Next' buttons to show at the bottom of the page as well as the top ? It seems silly that, when you reach the end of a page, you have to go all the way back to the top to go to the next page. It's also easy to forget that there is a next page, and reply to the last post on the current page on the assumption that it's the end of the thread.
...or am I just doing it wrong ?

it's meant to get caught and move down with you as you scroll down - it does disappear when you get down to the shoutbox though.
Think we could put the shoutbox at the top - if people would prefer
EDIT: Also on Firefox

Thank you so much Gerrard and Hairy, I would be so lost without you. Now I have no excuse for missing things.

Hmm, noticing a frequent need to log in when I visit, even though I keep checking the "keep me logged in" box. Wondering what the expiry on that is...

There is no expiry. Check your browser that you are able to accept cookies. Like any website, it looks for a previous cookie and reads the data from your earlier visit.
